A Deserved Winner: 21st February 2018

Just seen 'Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri’; Martin McDonagh’s stunning film that I will definitely see again.
I know that the BAFTAS and the Oscars are usually different but this year, perhaps not. The whole cast is brilliant, and Frances McDormand is superb... Go see it if you haven’t already!

V for Victory: 19th February 2018

Saw ‘The Darkest Hour’ at the Weekend and learned a few things:
*In 1940, everybody smoked... I think even the King’s corgi was puffing on a Capstan Full Strength.
*Gary Oldman deserves his victory at the BAFTAs
*In 1940, one stop on the District Line between St. James Park and Westminster took at least 15 minutes.
* And 'you can’t reason with a tiger when your head is in its mouth!'

1st November 2017: Acosta Danza

Went to see Carlos Acosta’s Cuban ballet company in Brighton last week. I never go to see ballet so it was a bit of a revelation....amazing evening...so glad I went.
It consisted of five separate pieces by different choreographers. ‘Twelve’, the last piece by Jorge Crecis involves a dozen dancers throwing 2 litre plastic bottles of water around at an ever increasing pace.....you need to see it!
